This kit is intended to provide sprinkler fire protection should there be a threat from an oncoming forest fire. The manufacturer of the equipment, Mercedes Textiles, provides this protection system to numerous provincial and state forestry departments to protect homes and cottages in remote areas in such an event. (Sprinkler poles are not included in the kit but can be made available, at extra cost, through our installation program.)

Not only does the sprinkler system reduce the danger of flying embers, the presence of the water vapour generated by their operation alters the atmospheric environment surrounding the area and encourages the fire to bypass.

Since the effectiveness is based upon thorough soaking of the area, long term operation (several hours) is required. For this purpose, the Wickman 100™ RFT (2 stroke) high pressure fire pump, with Remote Mercury Fuel Connection is utilized. With the use of the optional external fuel tank, many hours of uninterrupted operation can be achieved.
