2019 — Here We Go!

As I write this, we are entering March — the official beginning of Fire Season in several provinces. In Ontario last year, there were 1325 wildfires — about double that of 2017; and about double the 10 year average. In all, 276,356 hectares were burned — 248% more than the 10 year average. Ontario took a hit as major fires seriously impacted Central Ontario cottage country for the first time in many years. And then there was British Columbia that cannot seem to get a break. 2018 was a difficult year.

Here at One Stop Fire Products, we had our challenges. Being somewhat close to the Ontario fires, we were kept hopping to accommodate the demand for pumps, hoses and accessories. Late night and early morning pickups were common — the hour did not matter. For the most part, we were able to meet the demand. To my knowledge, only 1 of our customers experienced a significant loss.

Over the winter, many customers have been developing their strategies for the coming season. Wish lists have been arriving and quotes are being provided. Many orders have already been received and stock is inbound to fill those orders. Our shelves are filling in preparation for the need. Product will continue to arrive in the coming weeks.

For the coming season, there have been some price increases but not as significant as anticipated. Transportation costs have risen considerably — we are not happy, but can do little about it.

For those planning a purchase, please get your orders in as soon as possible, even if your delivery date is a few months away. Our shelves are only so deep and a sudden fire outbreak (remember Fort McMurray) empties those shelves and destroys the supply chain. If you have questions; require some advice, or in need of some hand-holding, please do not hesitate to contact us. Email works well; a phone call also will do the trick -- but our small scale operation may leave you speaking with a machine. In that case, please state your name and phone number twice — we will get back to you as soon as we can.

About Product Availability ...

We do attempt to have the most popular items on-hand, but as we move into the summer months, our warehouse does get depleted. A fire crisis anywhere in North America (or around the world) can strip our shelves within hours, create product shortages and cause havoc with our supply chain. It is advised to plan ahead as much as you can -- we will try our best to meet your needs.

For Our USA Customers

All prices on this website are in Canadian dollars. Of late, the US dollar has been significantly above the Canadian counterpart with the result that the net cost of your purchase will be less than the face amount shown — recently in the 25%-30% range.

Be aware that currency exchange rates are constantly changing. You can use the Currency Converter found on the upper left of each webpage to check the current rate. This will give you an approximation of what your net cost will be.

When you pay by credit card, there is nothing special that you must do. Your bank will automatically convert the charge at their preferred rate of the moment when they process the transaction and you will see that information on your credit card statement.
